¿WHEN AND HOW WAS THE COMPANY FOUNDED?
The beginning of the company Melgar began in 1960, when my father installed himself in Barcelona as provider “in situ” to several paper shops that sold agendas in genuine leather. There he began to work exclusively with Manuel Cabero y Myrga, two important firms in the sector of paper shops.
In 1968 he established definitively in Ubrique absorbing the famous company Manufacturas Victoria, out of this the company of today is created.

Our online store is a project filled with illusion. Our objectives are to get to know our best selection of products and sep a direct contact with the final costumer. For us the most important is the pride of seeing our cases in the hands of our costumers.

Porque una funda melgar puede ser reconocida perfectamente por cualquier inexperto en marroquinería frente al mejor producto asiático. Se percibe en sus acabados, su olor, su tacto… se nota algo diferente que permanece durante toda la vida del producto.
Esto es gracias a las manos de nuestros artesanos, los cuales tienen una experiencia mínima de 20 años y por supuesto al empleo de materiales de primera calidad.

¿WHY SHOULD ONE CHOOSE MELGAR INSTEAD OF OTHER CHINESE FABRICATORS?
Because a case from melgar can be perfectly recognized, in front of the best Asian product, by anyone who is not even familiar with the fabrication of leather. It is perceived in its finish, its smell of genuine leather etc. There is an obvious difference that the product will maintain during all times. This is thanks to our handicraftsmen, who all have at least an experience of about 20 years in this trade and of course, the use of genuine leather of prior quality.

Por supuesto disponemos de un protocolo que consiste en un riguroso control de calidad que comienza en la selección y corte de la piel y se prolonga durante todo el proceso de fabricación hasta que finalmente comprobamos cada funda con su respectiva PDA, esto nos asegura una calidad máxima y un perfecto encaje.

¿DOES MELGAR HAVE ANY KIND OF QUALITY CONTROL OF ITS PRODUCTS?
Of course we dispose a protocol that consists a rigorous control of quality that begins in the selection and cut of leather and it prolongs during all of the process of fabrication until the final try of each and every case with its respective PDA. This assures us of a maximum quality and a perfect fit.

¿QUE PORCENTAJE DE VENTAS DE MELGAR VA AL EXTRANJERO?
Bajo el nombre de otras marcas, fabricamos muchos productos que van para cualquier parte del mundo. Con la marca Melgar, las ventas en el resto de Europa van creciendo lentamente, en especial vendemos en Holanda y Reino Unido. Próximamente tenemos prevista una campaña de publicidad en portales y revistas especializas de otros países Europeos.

¿WHAT PROCENT OF THE SELLINGS FROM MELGAR GOES TO OTHER COUNTRIES?
Under names of other trademarks we fabricate several products that are exported to any part of the world. With the trademark Melgar, the selling to the rest of Europe are slowly raising, especially we are selling in Netherlands and United Kingdom. Approximately we are looking forward to a campaign of publicity in different portals and magazines specialized in other European countries.

¿USA FRANCIS UNA PDA EN SU VIDA DIARIA?
Mi primera PDA fue una Palm III xe, la recuerdo perfectamente porque fue la que me introdujo en el mercado de las fundas de PDAs, ya que primero fui usuario de PDA y después fabricante.
Actualmente siempre llevo colgada una HP 2490 y estoy esperando una Acer N50 Premium. Suelo usarla un numero de veces ilimitada a lo largo del día y siempre está junto a mi, ayudándome a organizar mi vida profesional.

¿IS FRANCIS USING A PDA IN HIS DAILY LIFE?
My first PDA was a Palm III xe, I remember it perfectly because it was this one that introduced me in the market of PDAs. I began as user of PDA and later I became fabricator of the cases. Today I always carry a HP 2490 and I am waiting for an Acer N50 Premium. I use it several times during the day and it is always with me, helping me to organize my professional life.

Nuestra funda Universal para PDAs consiste en una estructura de sujeción formada por tres elementos en forma de “T” que se unen en un punto central, donde se fijan mediante un tornillo, lo cual permite la movilidad de estas tres estructuras adaptándose así a las diferentes dimensiones y formas de las agendas electrónicas y permitiendo la conexión al PC sin necesidad de extraer la PDA de su funda.

Las principales ventajas que aporta nuestro exclusivo producto son:

-Ligera y de dimensiones extrareducidas.
-El sistema de sujeción no oculta la parte frontal de la PDA.
-Permite colgarla del cinturón y extraer el dispositivo fácilmente.
-No tendrás que cambiar de funda cuando renueves tu PDA.

¿WHAT CONSISTS THE MELGAR PATENTED SYSTEM OF?
Our Universal case for PDAs consists in a structure of subordination formed by three elements in form of “T” and it unites in a central point where you fix it with a screw, which permits the mobility of these three structures adapting the different dimensions and forms of electrical agendas and permitting the connection to the PC without the necessity to remove the PDA out of its case.
